This was the house of the town council up until it was amalgamated with Sowerby Bridge to become Sowerby Bridge Urban District Council in the 1930s. There were also meeting rooms and a library here.

It was located on the site of the gardens on Stocks Lane, where the stocks are located opposite the church.

The building was demolished shortly after it closed.
