The whole of the farms and property are Copyhold of Inheritance and held in the Manor of Wakefield, and the fines are small and certain, they are almost tithe free, and are let to respectable tenants. Sowerby is situated about one mile from the railway station at Sowerby Bridge, and the Calder and Hebble Canal, and three from Halifax. The division of so large a property into Lots presents an excellent opportunity for selecting beneficial and permanent investments.
Mr William Sutcliffe, of the King’s Head Inn, or any of the tenants, will show the premises, and any further information may be had on application to Mr Samuel Washington, Land Surveyor, Lightcliffe, near Halifax; and at the offices of Mr Hale, Solicitor, Bath and Mr G.R. Killmister, Solicitor, Macclesfield: and printed particulars, with plans annexed, may be had three weeks prior to the sale by applying as above, or to the auctioneer, Halifax, and also at the White Lion Hotel, Halifax; George Hotel, Huddersfield; Bowling Green, Bradford; and the place of sale.
